Ms. Rojas
by Dianne Rojas
I was born and raised in Palacios and have honestly never felt the need to move anywhere else. It is a wonderful town with a awesome school district that I wanted my own children to experience After working in a salon for ten years I accepted a position at Palacios High School as a Cosmetology teacher where I have been for twenty years. I have been married for twenty-nine years and have three children and a new daughter-in-law, TJ and Angela, Christopher, and Eric.
The purpose of this letter is to inform you of my classroom policies. Cosmetology is a three hour class that will offer your child the opportunity to receive a state license at the end of their second year. The classroom rules are listed on the link above and I expect them to be followed. If at anytime you have questions or comments please let me know and we can work them out together. As mentioned in my rules, my grading policy consists of daily grades worth 35% of their overall grade. These will be taken from lab work, short quizzes, homework, and participation in the classroom. There will be approximately three to four test grades given in a six week period and will be worth 40% of their grade. The students will have the opportunity to correct graded tests to bring up test grades and to better understand the material. Cheating is unacceptable in my classroom. If the student is found cheating he or she will receive a zero for their grade and a parent conference will be required.
